These adorably packages chocoballs from Morinaga are available in several flavours, every now and then there are special editions available as well. All of the packages include their cute mascot Kyoro-chan, who even has his own cartoon series. The flavours I purchased are: Strawberry, Caramel and Peanut.

Morinaga – Strawberry Chocoballs
Price: ±€2,- for a package of 24 grams.

As the packaging suggests, there is a strawberry flavour clearly present. The outside layer of the chocoballs is a strawberry white chocolate, which is filled with a milk chocolate filling with crunchy puffy, probably rice, balls inside. The filling is overpowered by the strawberry chocolate, which makes it harder to notice the filling, but the crunchy balls inside give it a nice texture. This is definitely a flavour for me.

Morinaga – Caramel Chocoballs
Price: ±€2,- for a package of 24 grams.

This caramel flavoured chocoball has a very chewy caramel filling, which reminded me of caramel toffee. The flavour of the milk chocolate outer layer doesn’t really stand out. I didn’t love this one, this was my least favourite of the bunch, but it wasn’t horrible either. I just disliked the chewy texture and the lack of chocolate flavour.

Morinaga – Peanut Chocoballs
Price: ±€2,- for a package of 24 grams.

Peanut chocoballs are different in shape and size than the other two flavours, because of the peanuts in the middle. The peanut is covered with a crunchy layer, I think it was puffy rice but I’m not sure, which is a nice addition. Once again the chocolate flavour didn’t stand out much to me. I did like this one, mainly because of the crunchy layer and the peanut flavour.

Overall I liked these chocolate candies. I liked their flavours and size, they made for a nice snack.
