Guitar Wolf are asking the fans worldwide to support the upcoming edition of Shimane Jett Fes, a festival organised by Seiji. The festival will take place on 21 September and the goal is to raise enough money to make the festival free of admission. Taking place in Kososhi Park in Shimane Prefecture, a park that was built upon an ancient Japanese pyramid, Shimane Jett Fes will be the event where many Japanese bands can introduce themselves in front of a big audience from young to old. Bands that are confirmed for the festival on 21 September are milktub, KING BROTHERS, GASOLINE, THE LET’S GO’s, OUT CLOUD ENTERTAINMENT and many more. Of course, Guitar Wolf will take the stage on this festival as well. If you decided to come to the festival, it is possible to eat the speciality miso soup made by Seiji’s mom, who will be standing in a food truck during the festival.
Although, Shimane Jett Fes is not a new festival, with editions in 2017 and 2018, after the first edition, Seiji decided to start with a crowdfunding to make it a yearly permanent event. To make more noise surrounding the festival, this year it has been decided to hold the crowdfunding worldwide.
A crowdfunding for Japanese fans through Camp Fire has started and is on 23% at the moment of writing. Since a few days, it is also possible to support Shimane Jett Fes by filling in a Google form. The crowdfunding through Camp Fire will last until Friday 17 August.
Shimane Prefecture is known for its roots in Japanese folktales and many mysteries based on them. Seiji: “This is the place where I grew up dreaming of merging Rock’n’Roll, ancient gods and UFO. I hope to inspire the landing of a UFO on top of this pyramid and share that experience with all of you.” With this festival, Seiji wants to inspire children and young people in Shimane with dreams, hopes and excitement and to be a catalyst to start something.
If the crowdfunding goal will not be reached, Shimane Jett Fes will still take place and tickets will be sold for ¥ 5000 each. If you have participated with the crowdfunding, your name will be put on a priority guest list and then it is not needed to buy a ticket.
A day later, there will be a night festival at AZTiC canova in Shimane with performing bands as LEARNERS, MONKEY PUNCH, THE LET’S GO’s and more. Tickets for this festival will be ¥ 3,500 in advance and ¥ 4,000 at the door.
