Yamato Taiko School will organise Holland Taiko Festival 2019 at Zuiderparktheater

On 28 September, the Yamato Taiko School (was also known as Yamato Drumming School) will organise the Holland Taiko Festival 2019. The location for this festival will be open-air theatre Zuiderparktheater in The Hague. This festival will take place for the first time, but it will also be the only time that it will take place in The Netherlands.

During this festival, you can expect a live show by the taiko school themselves and with special international guests, such as other taiko groups, but also Yamato itself. Furthermore, it is possible to enjoy Japanese street food, free taiko workshops and the children can enjoy festival games.

Programme:
12:00: Opening gates
13:00: Opening Ceremony
13:30: Opening Food stands: enjoy your lunch!
15:00 – 15:45: Audience – Taiko workshops 1
16:00 – 16:45: Audience – Taiko workshop 2
18:45: Pre-show
19:00 – 21:00: Opening Main Event – Taiko performances by Yamato Taiko School; International Guest Taiko Groups and YAMATO, the Drummers of Japan

Tickets for this event are € 20,00 online on the website of Zuiderparktheater, at the gate, a ticket will be € 21,00. Children under 5 years old can come in for free. Tickets for children from 5 – 18 are € 15,00 (online) and € 16,00 (at the door).

Yamato Taiko School started out in 2013 by Yamato – the Drummers of Japan. Interested people will get taiko lessons by drummers from Yamato and will get extra experience with drumming while performing at several Japan-related events all over the country. At this moment, there are about 200 people who are learning taiko drumming at this school.
