Indie-pop duo Heavenstamp had planned to return to the United Kingdom this Summer for a tour, but it is now clear that this tour will not take place and will be moved to another time.

The announcement of the postponement of the tour was already communicated in March, but was buried by the high number of other announcements of cancellations and postponements. It is not clear when exactly the duo will return to the United Kingdom. At the moment the two are recording a new album and it seems more than logical that they will go to the UK with this new album in their back pocket.

Heavenstamp formed in 2009 with four band members, but currently a duo by Sally#Cinnamon who is the vocalist and the guitarist and Tomoya.S, who is also the guitarist of the band. The sound the band make is a combination of several genres like rock, post-punk and shoegazer, but also club music and classical music with a heavy focus on rhythm and melody, all genres that the band members tend to enjoy and eventually inspired them into making their own music. In 2011, they got signed to Warner Music Japan and released their first album, HEAVENSTAMP. They have been writing music and lyrics for various artists including Superfly and Sakurako Ohara. In 2017, Heavenstamp decided to start their own independent label TENGOKU RECORDS.

The duo has currently three albums under their belt, their latest album was titled Love Builders and was released, after a wait of two years, in May 2019. Heavenstamp worked with Bloc Party and Animal Collective in the past, that started with the first EP, titled Hype, which was produced by Bloc party guitarist Russel Lissack. Last year they performed at Rising Sun Rock Festival, an annual festival where only Japanese artists perform. Heavenstamp performs regularly in the United Kingdom, the last time they performed there was in October 2019.

All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
