Sumikko gurashi were created by San-X and are adorable little animal characters. ‘Living in a corner’ is the meaning of their name, which fits these shy characters well.

Hayakawa – Sumikko Gurashi Candies
These adorably packaged heart-shaped hard candies come in three flavours. The three flavours are yoghurt flavour, peach yoghurt flavour and white grape yoghurt flavour. One bag contains about 15 individually packaged candies, perfect for sharing.
The blue packaging contains the candy that’s supposed to have a yoghurt flavour. It definitely tasted creamy, sweet and slightly sour, but I didn’t recognize it as yoghurt flavoured. It had a slight milk flavour to it.
When it comes to the peach yoghurt flavoured candy, I definitely recognized the peach flavour although it was mild. These candies were also a bit creamy, slightly sour and sweet.
White grape yoghurt flavour had a subtle white grape flavour to it, was creamy and slightly sour. Just like the other flavours, it was more sweet than sour.
All of these candies were slightly sour, yet still sweet. Although I didn’t really recognize a ‘yoghurt’ flavour in any of them, I did enjoy them. The images on the packaging were cute and the three flavours didn’t mismatch when followed by one another.
