Popin Cookin – Fuwa Fuwa Fluffy Pancakes – Simple
Price: ± €4
Extra supplies: Microwave, Water, Scissors, Optional: Cocktail Pick.
Most of the Popin Cookin kits have English instructions, which you can find here.
With this kit you create some adorable animal-shaped pancakes. There are three versions available, each with two moulds. The one on the packaging shows a panda and a bunny, then there’s one with a bear and a cat and another one with a bear and a penguin. Whichever mould you get is a surprise, but you can feel the shapes through the packaging.
Although the pancakes are definitely fluffy in the sense that they bounce back when you press on them, they are also pretty dry. The chocolate version had a slight cocoa flavour to it and the vanilla one did have a vanilla flavour, both had a sweetness to them.
The chocolate sauce had very little chocolate flavour to it, a slight hint of cacao but mainly it tasted sweet and slightly like vanilla. The sauce does improve the pancakes though, making them less dry.

This kit doesn’t have a lot of steps, so it takes up very little time.
Difficulty level: ★
The steps involved in this kit are very simple and there are few of them.
Although my pancakes aren’t as picture perfect, the final result does look pretty similar to the packaging. The colours are slightly different and the shapes didn’t come out of the mould as perfectly.
TIP: Use a cocktail pick to release the pancakes from their moulds and spread the chocolate sauce.

Clean the mould with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry. Don’t use soap to clean the mould.
If you want to reuse the moulds you could create more pancakes or whatever you’d like, like candies, fondant or even chocolate. Make sure you let the chocolate cool a little bit before pouring it into the moulds, since these are thin plastic moulds.
