The three-piece heliotrope will celebrate the 10th-anniversary of the band with a live performance in front of a small audience and through live broadcasting ‘to the world’, as the band promotes it. The live show is planned at the gallery space KATA on the 2nd floor of LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo on Friday 22 January.

This is the first solo live performance for the alternative indie band that will be streamed. Tickets for the live broadcast are 1000 yen and can be purchased through Zaiko. After the stream, the live archive will stay up for a couple of days until the end of 25 January (Japanese time). During the performance, Shingo Fujitani of 1inamillion and SLEEPLESS will take the stage as a guest guitarist.

heliotrope consist of Keiko Kobayashi (piano&vocal), Tomoaki Sato (bass) and Shingo Nakazawa (drums). The band has been active in a wide range of fields such as hardcore, post-rock, pop and acoustic, and in recent years they have also been involved in creative work such as providing music for commercials. Keiko also sings for math rock band JYOCHO.

For this year, the band has plans to go to Canada for a couple of performances. This venture will be the first time for the three-piece to perform overseas. Originally it was planned for last year, but it got postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. The upcoming livestream will also be a good step to reach a bigger overseas audience.

In 2011, they released their 1st mini album また会えますように (Mata aemasu you ni), in 2015 their 1st album 大丈夫、君なら (Daijoubu, Kimi nara) and in 2017, the 2nd mini album rain up. This was followed up by the release of their third mini-album, on 25th of December in the last year, with the title Reincarnation. This mini-album has been released only digitally.
