25th edition of Graspop Metal Meeting postponed to 2021

Graspop Metal Meeting will not have a 2021 edition. Just like last year, the Belgian metal festival will postpone its 25th edition due to the ongoing pandemic. It is now planned for 16, 17, 18 and 19 June 2022.

The organisation shared a message on their website and social media about skipping another year: “We would love nothing more than to welcome metalheads from all across the globe to Dessel this June but unfortunately that won’t be possible. The safety of visitors, crew and artists is always our primary concern. And we look forward to bringing GMM back better and stronger than ever in 2022!” Continued with: “Our heartfelt thanks go out to all you fans out there who rolled over their ticket(s) from 2020 to 2021! Your unwavering loyalty and incredible support in these times are what keeps us going. We’ll get through this together and we hope you’ll join us in 2022.”

The organisation also stated that they will do their best to roll over as many bands from the 2021 line-up to the 2022 edition. Ticket holders will be contacted by Ticketmaster shortly. A couple of bands that were confirmed for the 2021 edition were metalcore bands CRYSTAL LAKE and Crossfaith. The bands haven’t announced anything yet about being available for performance for June 2022. And who knows, BABYMETAL will be able to confirm a show at this metal festival as was announced for the 2020 edition.

The organisation is still hoping to give a taste of Graspop in 2021. What exactly this will entail, will be announced later on.

All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
